The Editors’ Guild, late in the night of Thursday, 15 November, released its updated list of members, which continues to include former MoS MJ Akbar, and former editor Tarun Tejpal – both accused of sexual harassment.

While Akbar has been accused of sexual misconduct and assault by several women over his tenure as a senior editor in light of the #MeToo movement, Tejpal has been charged with rape and is currently out on bail.

The list also includes Gautam Adhikari, former editor of DNA, who was also accused of sexual misconduct by at least three women during his tenure at The Times of India and DNA.

Journalists Express Outrage on Twitter

Several people immediately took to Twitter to express their outrage over the Guild’s perceived inaction despite the charges.
