A man was killed and a boy injured when a portion of an under-construction building collapsed due to rains in outer Delhi’s Narela on 3 July, Tuesday, PTI reported, quoting an official from the Delhi Fire Service.

The deceased was identified as Rakeeb, while the injured was identified as 15-year-old Prashant.

The wall which fell from the fifth floor hit the duo who were heading back home, a few meters away from the spot, Times of India reported.

A passerby informed the police after which a team rushed to the spot. Rakeeb was declared brought dead while the boy , who had sustained minor injuries, was discharged from the hospital after treatment, the TOI report added.

Rakeeb was reportedly the sole earning member of the family. Police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
