‘Perpetrators of Violence Won’t Be Spared’: PM on Maha IED Blast

Condemning the attack on the security personnel in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli, which claimed the lives of 15 jawans and a driver, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, 1 May, said, “The perpetrators of such violence will not be spared.”

A police vehicle carrying 16 security personnel was struck by an IED on Wednesday.

The vehicle was carrying personnel from Kurkheda Quick Response Team of Gadchiroli Police. The blast took place on the road between Jamborkheda and Lendhari, as per local police.

‘Strongly Condemn the Attack’: Maharashtra CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also condemned the attack and said “we will fight this menace with even more and stronger efforts.”

Fadnavis also said that Home Minister Rajnath Singh has been briefed about the situation.

‘Sacrifice Will Not Go in Vain’: Randeep Surjewala

Congress spokesperson Ramdeep Surjewala also condemned the attack and said that “their sacrifice would not go in vain.” He also slammed the Modi government, claiming that 390 jawans have been martyred in Naxal attacks in the past five years that “expose hollow claims” by the government of securing India.

‘Irreparable Loss’

Other political leaders, including BJP President Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, also took to Twitter to condemn the attack.
