After accessing Rahul Mukerjea’s statement to the CBI, CNN-IBN reports that Rahul told CBI Indrani misled him about Sheena. Rahul added that Sheena told him she was Indrani’s daughter in 2008. He added that he got engaged to Sheena in Dehradun in November 2011.

Rahul also said that Indrani was angry when he told Peter about Sheena being her daughter.

CBI: Peter Was Aware of Sheena’s Murder

Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh will appear in court for the CBI. The Bureau wants custody of Peter Mukerjea to verify the financial angle in the case and has sought a 14-day remand.

The CBI suspects that Peter was aware of Sheena’s murder, after his call records revealed contact with Indrani and Rahul Mukerjea during the crime’s time-frame, according to TV reports.

His call recordings revealed that Peter was aware of the murder and conspiracy.

Peter Mukerjea’s counsel has, however, argued that one call recording does not reveal conspiracy. He has also claimed that Peter was only trying to pacify Rahul.

Meanwhile, Indrani Mukerjea, who was produced in court has claimed that she has been framed.

The next hearing is on December 3.

Mahesh Jethmalani has said he will not appear for Peter Mukerjea in the Sheena Bora murder case.

According to media reports, the CBI has raided Mukerjea’s properties in the recent past, though when exactly is unclear. Mukerjea has been charged with giving false information, and he has been booked under sections 201 and 120B of the IPC.

Mukerjea is the husband of Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. He was arrested earlier this evening by the CBI in Mumbai.

Times Now has reported that driver Shyamwar Rai, who is already in custody for complicity in the murder, revealed in a confession before the magistrate that he had overheard the Indrani speaking to Mukerjea about the conspiracy and that he was fully aware of the murder.

He was summoned for questioning and when confronted with information revealed by Rai, he had nothing to say.

Owing to the information revealed by Rai and the fact that the CBI felt the need for Mukerjea’s custodial interrogation, he was placed under arrest by the CBI on charges of criminal conspiracy. He will be produced in court today at noon.
