Take-Off Aborted For Jet Airways Flight

A Riyadh–Mumbai flight of Jet Airways departed the runway, following an aborted take-off at Riyadh Airport on 3 August, reported ANI. All 142 guests and 7 crew members aboard the aircraft have been safely evacuated with no reported injuries, said Jet Airways.

NRC Assam: No Coercive Action to Be Taken Against Anyone Assures Rajnath Singh

Stating that the whole process of National Register of Citizens (NRC) has been undertaken under supervision of Supreme Court, Home minister Rajnath Singh on 3 August assured that no coercive action will be taken against anyone in any situation.

“I would like to repeat that its a draft and not final, everyone will get chance to appeal. It is a totally fair process. Unwarranted accusations are unfortunate” Rajnath Singh told the Rajya Sabha.

SC Refuses to Interfere with Karti Chidambaram's Anticipatory Bill

Supreme Court on 3 August refused to interfere with the anticipatory bail granted to Karti Chidambaram by the Delhi High Court.

SC Bench led by Justice AK Sikri refused to interfere with Delhi HC’s observations and said, “We do not find any reason to interfere with the HC order but the observations can’t be used by anyone in any case.”

Son of JDU MLA Bima Bharti Found Dead on Patna Railway Track

The Patna Police on Friday, 3 August, recovered the body of JDU MLA Bima Bharti's son from railway tracks near Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), reported ANI.

According to India TV, local media reported that the minister’s son had gone to meet his friends at Musallahpur Haat in Patna on late Thursday night.

Three-Storey Building in Lucknow Collapse After Heavy Rain

One girl was killed and her mother was severely injured when a three-storey building collapsed in Ganeshganj area in Lucknow on 3 August following incessant heavy rain, reported ANI.

The incident occurred after heavy rains lashed the city over the past few days. Financial Express reported that the deceased girl has been identified as Aashi Mishra. The injured woman has been admitted to a hospital.

Terrorists Hurl Grenade at CRPF Party in Anantnag

Terrorists have hurled grenades at a CRPF party on Friday, 3 August in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. Two security personnel have received minor injuries, reported ANI.

The attack comes days after three CRPF personnel sustained injuries in the Anantnag after an attack launched by the terrorists on 30 July.

In a separate incident terrorists on 3 August barged inside a branch of a bank in Karpan area of Shopian district and looted cash, and snatched a 12 bore rifle from the private security guard.

Imran Khan Summoned By Pak's Antigrat Body

Imran Khan, Pakistan's prime minister-in-waiting has been summoned by the country's anti-graft body on 7 August in connection with the misuse of official helicopters which caused Rs 2.17 million loss to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, PTI reported.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) summoned 65-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman on 7 August. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Khan's party has led the provincial government since 2013.

The NAB is investigating the cricketer-turned-politician for causing Rs 2.17 million loss to the provincial exchequer by using the government's helicopter for over 72 hours.

A NAB official said Khan has been summoned on August 7 for questioning and to record his statement.
