Jeff Sessions Resigns as US Attorney General

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions has resigned from the post at the request of President Donald Trump. An acting attorney general was appointed by the president as Sessions' temporary replacement.

For the past several months, Trump has been expressing his displeasure at Sessions' functioning in public meetings and on social media.

Russia Says Possible US Sanctions on Moscow Over Chemical Weapons 'Illegal'

Moscow considers any potential new sanctions related to chemical weapons imposed by the US on Russia to be illegal and will respond accordingly once they are announced, Russian officials have said.

On Tuesday, 6 November, the US State Department said that it might impose another round of sanctions on Russia over the latter's involvement in the nerve agent attack on a former Russian spy in Britain in March.

At least 47 people have been killed in Zimbabwe after two buses collided head-on, officials said.

The contractual ground staff of Air India Air Transport Services Limited (AIATSL) at the Mumbai airport have been on strike since Wednesday night. Several flights from Mumbai have been delayed as a result.

“Due to a sudden industrial situation at Mumbai airport by AIATSL employees, some flights have got delayed. We are assessing the situation and all efforts are being made to minimise delays or disruption,” an Air India spokesperson said.

A three-year-old girl was critically wounded in Meerut when a mischievous youth put a fire cracker in her mouth and lit it on Diwali eve, police said on Wednesday, 7 November.
