At Least 29 Inmates Killed in Clashes at Venezuela Jail
At least 29 prisoners were killed and 19 police wounded in clashes at a jail in western Venezuela Friday, authorities said.
The incident at the police station jail in the town of Acarigua, in Portuguesa state, occurred when police special forces (FAES) tried to stop a "massive prison break" which resulted in the deaths of 29 inmates, according to Portuguesa public security secretary Oscar Valero.

Malta Rescues 216 Migrants in Upsurge of Mediterranean Crossings

Ex-MP CM Chouhan's Father Dies in Mumbai Hospita
Prem Singh Chouhan (82), father of ex-chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and BJP national vice president Shivraj Singh Chouhan, died in a Mumbai hospital on Saturday, a BJP spokesperson said in Bhopal.

Traffic on the strategic 270-km Jammu-Srinagar National Highway resumed on Saturday evening after being closed for over 13 hours following a massive landslide in Ramban district, officials said.
The landslide, triggered by incessant rains over the past two days, occurred near Battery Cheshma around 4.30 am, completely blocking the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with rest of the country, Suresh Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (traffic), national highway Ramban, told PTI.
