One Doctor Held in Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Case

One doctor who allegedly gave sedatives to minor girls has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), reported News18. The arrest was made on late Tuesday night.

Ashwani Kumar, the local doctor believed to have played an accomplice’s role and held by CBI, has been termed as a big catch. The arrest comes days after a prime accused was held by CBI.

$1.66 Billion Security Aid to Pak Is Suspended: Pentagon

The United States has suspended USD 1.66 billion in security assistance to Pakistan, following President Donald Trump's directive early this year, the Pentagon has said.

"USD 1.66 billion of security assistance to Pakistan is suspended," Col Rob Manning, spokesman of the Department of Defense told reporters in an email response to questions on Tuesday.

No further breakdown of the suspended security assistance to Pakistan was provided.

According to David Sedney, who served as Deputy Assistant Secretary Defense for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia during the previous Obama administration, the blocking of military assistance to Pakistan, which began in January of this year is a strong signal of American frustration.

American Tourist, 27, Killed By Protected Tribe In Andaman Islands

An American tourist was killed in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday by a protected tribe, the police said. Seven fishermen who took the victim, John Allen Chau to the North Sentinel Island, where the indigenous Sentinelese people live, have been arrested.

Haryana Rape Accused ‘Confesses’ to Have Raped, Killed More Girls

Sunil Kumar, accused in the case of rape and murder of three-year-old girl in Haryana this month, had abducted and killed seven more girls between the age of three to eight-year-olds after raping them, The Hindu reported.

Of the seven victims, two were from Gurugram, three from Delhi and one each from Gwalior and Jhansi, said DCP (Crime) Sumit Kuhar.

South Korea's Kim Jong Yang has been elected as Interpol's next president, edging out a longtime veteran of Russia's security services who was strongly opposed by the US, Britain and other European nations.

The White House and its European partners had lobbied against Alexander Prokopchuk's attempts to be named the next president of the policing organization, saying his election would lead to further Russian abuses of Interpol's red notice system to go after political opponents.

Kim's win means he secured at least two-thirds of votes cast at Interpol's general assembly in Dubai on Wednesday.

5 Labourers Killed, 9 Injured as Car Runs Over Them

Five laoburers were killed and nine injured as a car ran over them while they were sleeping on a bridge in Hisar, Haryana. The incident happened at around 2 am on Wednesday. The speeding car then hit another car and fell off the bridge. Drivers of both cars were injured.
