Indonesia Calls Off Search For Victims of Lion Air Crash

Indonesian Authorities on Saturday, 10 November, stated that they were calling off the search for the victims of the Lion Air Flight 610, which had crashed in October, last month.

However, they said that the search for the second black box and cockpit voice radio, would continue. The announcement was made by Muhammad Syaugi, the head of the search and rescue team.

10 Dead, 11 Injured in Rio Mudslide

At least 10 people died and 11 others were injured on Saturday, 10 November, in a mudslide in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, official sources said.

According to Rio firefighters, 11 people were rescued alive in Morro da Boa Esperança, in the municipality of Niteroi, though at least four others are still missing, reports Efe news.

The people who were rescued, including a baby, two children and a 33-year-old man, suffered various types of injuries and were taken to local hospitals, Roberto Robadey, commander of Rio's fire department, said during an interview with Globo News television.

Rabri Devi Not to Celebrate Chhath Over Son's Divorce

Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, upset over elder son Tej Pratap's planned divorce from his wife, and his threat that he won't return home unless his parents supported his decision, will not celebrate Chhath Puja this year.

"Rabri Devi will not celebrate Chhath this year because the family is worried over Tej Pratap's absence from Patna for the last one week," Bhola Yadav, a Rashtriya Janata Dal legislator considered close to party chief Lalu Prasad's family, said on Saturday, 10 November.

Death Toll in California Wildfire Rises to 23

The death toll in the wildfire that tore through a Northern California community has risen to 23.

The Butte County Sheriff says investigators recovered 14 additional bodies on Saturday, 10 November, three days after the fire broke out. He says some of the victims were found in cars and in houses.

The fire has become the third-deadliest in California history.

Samajwadi Party leader Ram Govind Chaudhari on Sunday, 11 November suffered a heart attack in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to news agency, ANI, Dr PK Jain of Ram Raja Super Speciality Hospital said that Choudhari was admitted in serious condition.

"He is currently under ventilator. He will be sent to Delhi's Medanta Hospital so that he gets better treatment", Jain added.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) has summoned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar along with former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and former deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Badal in connection with Bargari sacrilege case.

Akshay Kumar has been asked to be present before the SIT in Amritsar on 21 November 21. Prakash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal have been summoned on 16 and 19 November, respectively, in Amritsar.

6 Feared Drowned at Yarada Beach, Andhra Pradesh

At least six people out on a picnic are feared to have drowned off Yarada beach in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, police said.

They were caught in strong undercurrents, which pulled them well into the sea, police said. Four were rescued by community guards, they said, adding that the others were missing and were feared to have drowned.

Search operations have been launched to trace the missing men, police said. One among these men was an ITI student and another an autorickshaw driver, they said.

The United States of America has called out for a cessation of hostilities in Yemen and for all parties to come to a negotiable peaceful solution to the conflict, United States Secretary of States Mike Pompeo’s spokesperson confirmed.

Prince Mohammed has overseen Saudi Arabia's Yemen war effort, a highly controversial intervention to bolster President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi's government in the face of an insurgency by Huthi rebels.

Nearly 10,000 people have since been killed and the country now stands at the brink of famine.
