11 People Injured in Fire at House in Outer Delhi

Eleven people were injured in a fire at a house in outer Delhi's Nangloi area on Thursday, Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials said.

The DFS received a call about the fire at 12.46 pm and three fire tenders were rushed to the spot, they said.

The fire broke out in a room of the house due to LPG leakage, Chief Fire Officer Atug Garg said, adding that 11 people, including nine women and two men, were injured.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital, he said.

Pakistan to Send Its First Astronaut to Space in 2022: Minister

Pakistan on Thursday announced that it will send its first astronaut to space in 2022 using close ally China's satellite launch facilities.

Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Science and Technology, said the selection process of the astronaut for the space mission would start from February 2020.

"Proud to announce that selection process for the first Pakistani to be sent to Space shall begin from February 2020. Fifty people will be short listed. The list will then come down to 25 and in 2022 we will send our first person to space. This will be the biggest space event of our country,” Chaudhry said in a tweet.

"We expect that full consular access to Jadhav should be granted at the earliest in full compliance and conformity with the judgement of the ICJ and the Vienna Convention," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said during a weekly media briefing.

Rohit Tiwari Murder: Court Denies Bail to His Wife Apoorva

A Delhi court on Thursday dismissed the bail application of Apoorva Shukla, accsued of killing her husband Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, the son of late veteran politician ND Tiwari.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Deepak Sherawat dismissed Shukla's application, her lawyer Mahmood Pracha said.

The application was moved on the ground that Delhi police did not file the charge sheet within 90-days, the mandatory period, making her entitled to statutory bail.

Delhi Police opposed the application, saying the investigation was ongoing.

2 Arrested in J&K for Facilitating Infiltration

Two persons have been arrested from Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly facilitating infiltration of militants by providing them logistical support, police said on Thursday.

"Acting on a credible input, the police along with security forces arrested two terrorist associates identified as Mohd Saleem Gojer, a resident of Bandipora, and Mohammad Iqbal Khatana, a resident of Rajouri," a police spokesperson said.

He said as per the investigation, the duo was involved in providing logistic support to terrorists.

"Arms and ammunition and other incriminating material have been seized from their possession," the spokesperson said, adding that a case has been registered against them under relevant sections of law at Bandipora police station.

Chandrayaan-2 Performs Second Earth-Bound Maneuver Successfully

Second earth bound orbit raising maneuver for Chandryaan-2 spacecraft has been performed successfully on Friday, 26 July at 0108 hrs (IST) as planned, using the onboard propulsion system for a firing duration of 883 seconds. The orbit achieved is 251 x 54829 km.

All spacecraft parameters are normal. The third orbit raising maneuver is scheduled on 29 July 2019, between 1430 – 1530 hrs.

In last 48 hrs 3 murder cases have taken place in Cuttack. After seeing the pattern of the murders, the police are guessing that the crimes have been committed by the same person, since the victims are all homeless people.
