Three Children Charred to Death in Bihar

Three children of a family have died of burns at Lakhmohana village in Bihar's Nawada district, police said on Sunday.

Two children died on the spot on Saturday night while another died in Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Patna, Akbarpur Police Station in-charge SHO Lakshman Prasad said.

The incident occurred around 10 pm on Saturday when the children were sleeping in the hut and an earthen stove was lit to keep them warm.

PM Modi to Inaugurate Assam's Bogibeel Bridge on 25 Dec: Railway Min

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bogibeel rail-cum-road bridge on the Brahmaputra in Assam on December 25, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said.

Goyal was in Vadodara on Saturday to inaugurate the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), the country's first railway university.

"The 4.94 kilometre Bogibeel bridge, work on which started in 2002, will be the longest rail-cum-road bridge in the country and will connect Dhemaji and Dibrugarh on the north and south banks of the Brahmaputra," Goyal said on Saturday.

Four Dead in Portugal Helicopter Crash

A rescue helicopter crashed in the mountains near Porto, Portugal on Saturday, killing all four people on board. The two pilots, a paramedic and a doctor onboard crashed due to bad weather conditions. The ruins were found near Salto area, Al Jazeera reported.

Man Shot Dead by Three Bikers in Delhi

A 24-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by three bike-borne assailants while he was walking near his house in northeast Delhi's Nandnagri area, police said Sunday.

Police said the accused and the victim had a fight three days ago over some petty issue following which they decided to take revenge.

Woman Molested, Beaten up for Protesting Against Eve-Teasing

A woman was allegedly molested and beaten up when she protested against the eve-teasing by a group of men in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, the police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred at Machrauli village in Jhinjhana area on Saturday. Ten people attacked the woman and her family members with sharp weapons when she opposed their eve-teasing, the police said.

10 Kids Fall Sick After Consuming Milk at Anganwadi Centre

As many as ten children fell sick after they drank milk served to them at an anganwadi centre in a village in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district, an official said Sunday.

The condition of all the children is said to normal and they have been discharged from hospital in Rajnandgaon, he said.

42 People Injured in Japan Restaurant Explosion

More than 40 people were injured in an explosion on Sunday, 16 December night at a Japanese restaurant in northern Japan, police said.

The explosion occurred in Sapporo, the capital city of Japan's northern main island of Hokkaido, and caused nearby apartment buildings and houses to shake.
