White House Rules out Cooperation in Impeachment Probe

The White House slammed the door in a letter on Tuesday, 8 October, on any cooperation by President Donald Trump's administration with the Democrats' impeachment probe, calling it "constitutionally invalid."

The eight page letter to Democratic leaders, signed by White House counsel Pat Cipollone, rejected the entire process underway in the House of Representatives, which is examining whether Trump abused his office by seeking a corruption probe in Ukraine of 2020 election rival Joe Biden.

Aadhar Linking Date for Rs 6K Benefit under PM-Kisan Scheme Extended till 30 Nov

The government on Wednesday extended Aadhaar seeding date to avail Rs 6,000 benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Scheme till 30 November.

The decision was taken in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Cabinet has decided to relax till 30th November 2019, the mandatory requirement of Aadhaar seeding for release of benefits under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi after 1 August, 2019," Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar told media after the meeting.

The date has been extended to help farmers ahead of rabi (winter) sowing, he said.

A moderate 5.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, days after 40 people were killed in a powerful quake in PoK and other parts of the country.
