Two Killed in Car Bomb Attack in Iraq's Mosul

Two people were killed in a car bomb outside a restaurant in Iraq's Mosul late on Friday, security forces said, in the second such incident in around a week.

A statement by the Iraqi military's media centre said one young woman and a security officer were killed in the blast, which took place in the city's eastern half.

Ten other people were wounded.

Iraqi forces ousted the Islamic State group from Mosul in mid-2017, but explosions and hit-and-run attacks have continued to plague the province.

One SPO Injured in Ceasefire Violation in J&K

One Special Police officer (SPO) has been injured in the ceasefire violation in Kerni sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, that took place on Friday around 6 pm in the evening.

Pakistan had on Friday violated the ceasefire by resorting to heavy shelling with artillery and firing of small arms in Shahpur and Kerni sectors of Poonch district. The Indian Army had retaliated.

Jagdish Mukhi Sworn in as Governor of Mizoram

Jagdish Mukhi was on Saturday sworn-in as the Governor of Mizoram at a simple function at the Raj Bhavan in Aizawl. Gauhati High Court judge, Justice Nelson Sailo administered the oath of office to Mukhi. Mukhi is also the Governor of Assam.

He succeeded Kummanam Rajasekharan as the governor of Mizoram as the latter resigned on Thursday and his resignation was accepted by the President Ram Nath Kovind who appointed Mukhi to take additional charge of Mizoram.

Army Retrieves One More Jawan's Body From Avalanche Site in Kinnaur

TMC Councillor Nirmal Dutta said, "3 men vandalised the statue, we caught one of them while the other 2 managed to escape. We don't know why they did it. Indian Air Force Airlifts 22 People in Himachal Pradesh Due to Heavy Snowfall

The Indian Air Force helicopter airlifted 22 people from Bhuntar in Kullu to Stingri in Lahaul-Spiti and 21 from Stingri to Bhunter on Saturday, 9 March. Roads in Lahaul-Spiti and Manali-Leh highway have been closed since the past two months due to heavy snowfall this year.

Lahore HC to Hear Plea on Imran Khan's Disqualification on 11 March

The Lahore High Court on Monday, 11 March is set to hear a plea seeking disqualification of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for concealing the alleged parentage of a daughter with a former partner in his nomination papers for the 2018 election.

The petition claims that Khan had concealed the alleged parentage of Tyrian Jade Khan White in his nomination papers for the 2018 general elections.

Tyrian White is the daughter of Ana-Luisa (Sita) White, the daughter of the late Lord Gordon White. It has often been alleged that Tyrian is Imran Khan's daughter, the report said.

Four Dead as Car Plunges into Canal in Ludhiana

Four people died after the car plunged into the Sidhwan Canal at Sarabha Nagar in Punjab’s Ludhiana, police said on Saturday, 9 March.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into the canal on Friday night, police said.

All the four occupants of the car drowned in the canal, police said, adding that the bodies were later fished out.
