In a suspected case of honour killing, a 28-year-old woman was shot dead at a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Friday allegedly by her family members, police said.
Nisha was shot dead around 1 am at Dastampur village in Jewar area of the district, with the police registering a murder case against seven people of her family including her father, an official said.

The bail was granted by Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court, Bhubaneswar, Arun K Mallick. The court is also designated as a special court dealing with cases involving MLAs and MPs.
"The court granted conditional bail to the MLA on the surety of Rs 25,000 and two bailers with a direction to cooperate with police in the investigation process," said Arup Chand, the advocate of junior engineer Jayakanta Sabar.

An Islamic State group affiliate has claimed responsibility for a bombing in a Shiite mosque in central Afghanistan's Ghazni province that killed two people and injured 20 others. Provincial governor's spokesman Arif Noori says an explosive devise detonated during evening prayers on Friday when the mosque was full.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested from Kalkaji for allegedly duping over 1,000 people across the country on the pretext of giving them lucky draw prizes, police said.
The accused was identified as Deepak Negi, a resident of Sangam Vihar.

In another case of suspected sexual abuse by a gang in Pollachi, nine people have been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, police said Saturday.
