Sexual Assault Charges Against Kevin Spacey Dropped

A young man who accused Kevin Spacey of a sexual assault in a Massachusetts bar has dropped his lawsuit against the award-winning actor.

A motion for "voluntary dismissal" of the civil complaint against the former "House of Cards" star was filed in Superior Court in Nantucket, Massachusetts, with no reason given.

Woman Who Married Without Informing Family Gunned down in UP

In a suspected case of honour killing, a 28-year-old woman was shot dead at a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Friday allegedly by her family members, police said.

Nisha was shot dead around 1 am at Dastampur village in Jewar area of the district, with the police registering a murder case against seven people of her family including her father, an official said.

A clash broke out allegedly between Trinamool Congress (TMC) & Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Asansol, today. Police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

Responding to the incident, Asansol Mayor & TMC leader J Tiwari said,

“They had come with the intention to attack but couldn’t even manage to touch the gate of the corporation. Babul Supriyo, if you are BJP’s monkey then we’ve a cage ready for you in Asansol, we’ve the capability to keep monkeys like you caged.”

Odisha MLA Accused of Harassing Engineer Gets Bail

Ruling BJD's Patnagarh MLA Saroj Kumar Meher was on Saturday granted conditional bail in an alleged case of harassment of a tribal junior engineer.

The bail was granted by Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court, Bhubaneswar, Arun K Mallick. The court is also designated as a special court dealing with cases involving MLAs and MPs.

"The court granted conditional bail to the MLA on the surety of Rs 25,000 and two bailers with a direction to cooperate with police in the investigation process," said Arup Chand, the advocate of junior engineer Jayakanta Sabar.

A man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur district in January this year.

The arrested was identified as Anmol, the police said, adding that he allegedly raped the 16-year-old girl of the same village on 20 January.

In another case of suspected sexual abuse by a gang in Pollachi, nine people have been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, police said Saturday.
