Encounter Underway Between Security Forces and Terrorists in Shopian

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Shopian’s Sangran village in Jammu and Kashmir early on Monday, 3 December, reported ANI.

Two terrorists are reportedly trapped and firing has stopped at present.

World Bank Promises USD 200 bn in 2021-25 Climate Cash

The World Bank on Monday, 3 December, unveiled USD 200 billion in climate action investment for 2021-25, adding this amounts to a doubling of its current five-year funding.

The World Bank said the move, coinciding with a UN climate summit meeting of some 200 nations in Poland, represented a "significantly ramped up ambition" to tackle climate change, "sending an important signal to the wider global community to do the same".

Developed countries are committed to lifting combined annual public and private spending to USD 100 billion in developing countries by 2020 to fight the impact of climate change – up from 48.5 billion in 2016 and 56.7 billion last year, according to latest OECD data.

Jet Fuel Prices Cut To Lowest In Seven Months By Indian Oil

Indian Oil Corporation, the country's biggest fuel retailer, has cut the jet fuel prices for domestic and international carriers.

The price in Delhi for domestic airlines was cut to Rs. 68,050.97 a kiloliter on 1 December, an 11 percent reduction from a month earlier, according to a statement by the state-run company. That is the lowest since 1 May, data from Indian Oil show. The rate reached a five-year high in November.

Two Class X Students Missing from Hostel, Leave Note Blaming Warden

Two class X students went missing from a central government-aided girls hostel in southeast Delhi on 27 November. The two allegedly left a note in which they allegedly blamed the hostel warden for running away.

The police has registered an FIR under IPC Section 363 (kidnapping), and that two teams will be sent to Chandigarh and Dehradun to trace the minors.

Elephant Attacks Car in Uttarakhand's Ramnagar
