British PM Boris Johnson Makes First Scotland Trip in Bid to Boost Union
New British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will make his first official visit to Scotland on Monday in an attempt to bolster the union in the face of warnings over a no-deal Brexit.
Johnson will visit a military base to announce new funding for local communities, saying that Britain is a "global brand and together we are safer, stronger and more prosperous", according to a statement released by his Downing Street Office.
It will be the first stop on a tour of the countries that make up the United Kingdom, as he attempts to win support for his Brexit plans and head off talk of a break-up of the union.

Cambodia Buying 'Tens of Thousands' of Chinese Weapons: PM
Cambodia has purchased "tens of thousands" of weapons from China, premier Hun Sen said Monday, providing rare details of arms deals with Beijing just days after denying a secret agreement to allow Chinese warships to use a local naval base.
The Wall Street Journal last week reported on a draft deal letting China access Ream base near Sihanoukville to dock warships and store weapons, apparently confirming months of rumours.
Cambodia tried to knock down the report on Friday by taking dozens of reporters on an unprecedented tour of the base.

At Least 19 Dead in Peru Mountain Road Accident
At least 19 people died and eight more were injured in a bus crash on a mountain road in Peru, police said on Monday.
The crash happened in Canta province, around 100 kilometers (60 miles) from Lima at 8:30 pm (0130 GMT) on Sunday night, as travelers returned to the capital following a national holiday.
The fatalities were 11 women and eight men, police colonel Jorge Castillo told the Andina press agency. No foreigners were among the victims.

Quake Hits Lahaul-Spiti; 14th This Year in Himachal Pradesh
An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude shook Himachal Pradesh's tribal Lahaul and Spiti district on Monday, the meteorological department said. There were no immediate reports of any casualty or damage to property, it said.
The quake's epicentre was at a depth of 20 km north-east in Lahaul and Spiti district, the department said, adding that tremors were also felt in and around the district at 9.03 am on Monday.
This is the third earthquake in Himachal Pradesh in a week and the fourteenth in the last seven months.

Indigo Plane Aborts Take-Off at Bhopal Airport Due to Technical Snag
More than 150 passengers of a Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight from Bhopal survived a scare on Monday evening when the pilot aborted take-off at the last minute at the Raja Bhoj airport in Bhopal due to a technical glitch in the aircraft's wheels, an official said.
An IndiGo airline executive confirmed the incident and said all the passengers were safe.
"There were 155 passengers in the plane and all of them were safe," IndiGo's Bhopal station manager Ekta Shrivastava told PTI.
School Students Shot Dead at Sudan Rally Ahead of Talks
Four Sudanese school students were among five demonstrators shot dead on Monday during a rally against shortages of bread and fuel, a day before protest leaders and ruling generals are set to hold new talks on the country's transition.
Authorities announced a night-time curfew in four towns following the deaths in the central town of Al-Obeid, as a key protest group called for nationwide rallies against the "massacre".
The ruling military council and protest leaders earlier this month inked a power-sharing deal providing for a joint civilian-military administration which in turn would install civilian rule.

Two US soldiers were killed in action in Afghanistan on Monday, NATO announced - the latest international military casualties as Washington seeks a way out of America's longest war.
"The name of the service members killed in action is being withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin is complete," Resolute Support, the US-led NATO mission in Afghanistan, said in a statement.
The death brings to 12 the number of members of the US military to be killed in action in Afghanistan this year.
