Spurned Lover Stabs 24-Year-Old Woman Multiple Times

A spurned lover allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old woman multiple times at her residence in the capital's Chirag Dilli area, police said Friday.

The woman, identified as Pinkey was in a relationship with the accused Sunny, they said. Both Pinkey and Sunny were rushed to AIIMS. While Pinkey succumbed to her injuries, the accused is presently being treated at the hospital, police said.

Heat Wave Intensifies in Jammu, Srinagar Records Dip in Mercury

The heat wave conditions intensified in Jammu on Friday as the maximum temperature settled at 42.4 degrees Celsius-- 4.7 notches above season's average and the highest in the last two weeks, a MET department official said.

The maximum temperature in the city marked an increase of 2.4 notches compared to previous days 40.2 degrees Celsius, forcing many to remain indoors.

Jammu had recorded the season's highest day temperature on June 10 when the mercury had touched 44.4 degrees Celsius.
