Kim Oversaw Test of 'Multiple Rocket Launcher': KCNA

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised the test-firing of a "super-large multiple rocket launcher," state media reported Sunday, one day after the latest in a series of short-range missile launches.

Kim said the "newly developed" system was a "great weapon," the country's official Korean Central News Agency said.

The North Korean leader said the country needed to continue to step up weapons development "for resolutely frustrating the ever-mounting military threats and pressure offensive of the hostile forces," KCNA added.

NASA Investigating First Crime Committed in Space: Report

US space agency NASA is investigating what may be the first crime committed in outer space, The New York Times reported Saturday.

Astronaut Anne McClain is accused of identity theft and improperly accessing her estranged wife's private financial records while on a sixth-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS), the Times said.

The astronaut's spouse Summer Worden filed a complaint earlier this year with the Federal Trade Commission after learning McClain had accessed her bank account without permission, while Worden's family filed another with NASA's Office of Inspector General, according to the newspaper.

McClain's lawyer said the astronaut had done nothing wrong and accessed the bank records while aboard the ISS in order to monitor the couple's combined finances -- something she had done over the course of their relationship, the Times reported.

Iranian Oil Tanker Pursued by US Says It Is Going to Turkey

An Iranian-flagged oil tanker pursued by the US amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington changed its listed destination to a port in Turkey after Greece said it wouldn't risk its relations with America by aiding it.

Meanwhile, Iran sanctioned a prominent Washington-based think tank that led criticism of Tehran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers over its alleged "economic terrorism," something the organization described as a "badge of honor."

13 Injured in Clash Between Two Groups in UP's Muzaffarnagar

Thirteen people were injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar after a clash broke out between two groups over taking water from a public hand pump, police said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday in Sakoti village, which comes under the jurisdiction of Jhinjana police station, said Dinesh Kumar, in-charge of Chosana police outpost.

Injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, he said.

Bihar Schools Have Worst Student-Teacher Ratio, Followed by Delhi: HRD

Schools in Bihar have the fewest teachers per student with a pupil-teacher ratio (PTR) of 38, followed by Delhi at 35, while Sikkim has the best student-teacher ratio at four, according to HRD Ministry officials.

The Right To Education Act, 2009 in its schedule has laid down pupil-teacher ratio (PTR) for both primary and upper primary schools. At primary level, the PTR norm is 30:1 and at the upper primary level it is 35:1.

"In upper primary schools, Bihar has a PTR of 39 while Delhi has 34. In primary schools, the PTR is 38 and 35 for Bihar and Delhi, respectively," a senior HRD Ministry official said.

The Kartarpur corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian Sikh pilgrims, who will have to just obtain a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib, which was established in 1522 by Baba Guru Nanak.

Special Assistant to Pakistan Prime Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan in a series of tweets said that Kartarpur is a sacred place for Sikhs and is the perfect example of interfaith harmony.

5 Killed as Vehicle Falls Into Gorge in Rajouri, J&K

Five persons were killed when an overloaded private vehicle skidded off a road and fell into a deep gorge in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.

The tempo traveller, reportedly ferrying 35 people, was on the way to Sharda Sharief from Poonch when the accident took place in Thanamandi area, Rajouri District Development Commissioner Aijaz Asad told PTI.

Specialists from medical and dental fraternity, including plastic surgeons, cleft orthodontists, pediatricians, clinical geneticist and clinical psychologists, contributed as course faculty to sensitise participants about complete protocols of the cleft treatment with greater emphasis on correcting deformities of face due to poor dental alignment and unintelligible speech.

A 35-year-old man, who was arrested on the charges of theft, died under mysterious circumstances in police custody in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, an official said.

JNUSU Writes to Nishank, Sisodia; Alleges Varsity Denied Registration to Dalit Students in B.Tech

The Jawaharlal Nehru Students' Union on Sunday wrote to HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia, demanding revocation of the varsity's alleged denial of registration to two Dalit B.Tech students in the third semester.

In the letter, outgoing JNUSU president N Sai Balaji claimed the two students were also being forced by the administration to leave the university.

The Engineering School was started in the JNU without any proper building, classrooms, labs, hostels and permanent teachers, he claimed.

Seven people including two children were killed in a mid-air collision between a helicopter and a light aircraft over Spain's Mallorca island on Sunday, authorities said. The two aircraft crashed over the central town of Inca at 1:35 pm (1135 GMT), the regional Balearic Islands government said on its Twitter account.
