One Army jawan, Hari Waker, has lost his life in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector on Sunday, 24 March.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered a probe into reports of abduction, forced conversion and underage marriages of two teenage Hindu girls in Sindh province. He said there must be immediate steps for their recovery, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Sunday, 24 March.

The two girls, Raveena (13) and Reena (15), were allegedly kidnapped by a group of "influential" men from their home in Ghotki district in Sindh on the eve of Holi. Soon after the kidnapping, a video went viral in which a cleric was purportedly shown soleminising the Nikah (marriage) of the two girls.

SC to Hear a Fresh Plea for Not Evicting Forest Dwellers New Delhi on Monday

The Supreme Court will hear on Monday, March 25, a fresh plea seeking a direction to authorities not to evict any forest dweller and to set up an SIT to look into alleged illegal acquisition of tribals' land.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sanjiv Khanna had taken cognisance of the plea on 5 March, filed by Chhattisgarh-based Tarika Tarangini Larka, seeking a direction to the Centre not to allot possession of any forest land belonging to tribals to anyone other than 'adivasis' residing in that particular area.

Thousands Attend New Zealand Vigil to Honour the Victims of the Christchurch Shooting

Rhousands of people have gathered in the New Zealand city of Christchurch on 24 March, to listen to prayers, songs and speeches at a vigil to remember the 50 victims killed in a terrorist attack on two mosques.

One of those watching from a wheelchair was 21-year-old Mustafa Boztas, who was shot in the leg and liver during the 15 March attack at the Al Noor mosque.

BJP Leader Ramlal Gurjar Shot at in Rajasthan's Jhalawar, Condition Stable

Four persons including a BJP leader were injured when three to four people opened fire at them after a social function in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, police said on Sunday 24 March.

The incident occurred on Saturday night in Bhawanimandhi where the former chairman of Nagarpalika and BJP leader Ramlal Gurjar (58) was returning after attending a function, they said.

The accused opened fire and targeted him, police said.

"Gurjar and three others received bullet injuries. They were admitted to the district hospital where their condition is stable. Different teams have been formed to locate and arrest the accused," they added.

Four Killed, Many Hurt as Bus Falls into Gorge

Four passengers were killed and 45 others injured today when their bus fell into a gorge in Maharashtra's Palghar district, an official said.

The incident occurred at around 2:45 pm in Torangane ghat between Mokhada and Trimbakeshwar villages, said Thane Region Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam.

The private bus had started from Nashik in north Maharashtra and was headed towards Palghar, around 100 kms from here, he said.

Two senior managers of a restaurant in Delhi were arrested in connection with the death of two employees while cleaning its kitchen treatment plant, police said today.

Boko Haram Kills 7 Niger Villagers near Nigeria

Boko Haram jihadists killed at least seven villagers in a series of attacks in southeastern Niger near the border with Nigeria, a local official and an NGO said Sunday.

The attackers carried out three separate raids overnight Saturday, said a senior official in the Diffa region, which borders northeastern Nigeria, Boko Haram's base.

In the course of the raids they killed seven people, abducted two women and burned down a market and several houses, the official said.
