Activist Arun Ferreira told the Bombay High Court that there was no incriminating evidence against him in the Elgaar Parishad-Bhima Koregaon Violence case, on 20 September 2019.

Ferreira was arrested along with four other activists in August 2018 and accused of involvement in the protests and unrest that gripped India on 1 and 2 January 2018.

Ferreira’s lawyer, Sudeep Pasbola contended that Ferreira was only arrested because he knew co-accused Surendra Gadling, and because he was a member of the Indian Association of People”s Lawyers (IAPL).
