Imran Khan Arrives in US, Will Meet Trump on Monday

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Washington on Saturday, 20 July, on a three-day official trip to the US. Khan, 66, is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on 22 July, during which the American leadership will press him to take "decisive and irreversible" actions against terrorist and militant groups operating from Pakistani soil and facilitate peace talks with the Taliban.

The cricketer-turned-politician arrived abroad a commercial Qatar Airways flight and is staying at the official residence of the Pakistani Ambassador to the US, Asad Majeed Khan.

He was welcomed at the airport by his foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. A large number of Pakistani Americans also welcomed him.

Nawaz Sharif was the last Pakistani prime minister to visit the US on an official working trip in October 2015.

Man Beheaded by Brother-in-laws in Telangana

A 26-year-old man, Saddam, was beheaded by his brother-in-law in Telangana’s Nalgonda yesterday over a family dispute.

The accused later reached the police station with the severed head of the victim. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.

Noida Police: 260 Found Drinking in Public, Released After Furnishing Bail Bonds

Drinking at public places in Noida and Greater Noida landed 260 people in trouble who were held by the police and released only after furnishing bail bonds, officials said Sunday.

During the police checks carried out on Saturday night, 174 such people were held (not arrested) in Noida area, while 86 in Greater Noida region, the officials said.

"Overall 260 people were held for creating nuisance. They were found drinking at public places in violation of the law," Superintendent of Police, Noida, Vineet Jaiswal said.

He said most of the cases in the city area took places under jurisdiction of Sector 20 and Phase 2 police station areas.

"The action was taken under Indian Penal Code section 290 (punishment for public nuisance, with fine may extend to Rs 200). None of them were arrested. They were challaned. They were brought to police station and released after furnishing bail bonds," Jaiswal said.

Minor Girl Rescued Within Hours of Abduction in Poonch, Accused Arrested

A 16-year-old girl was rescued within hours of her abduction by a youth in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Sunday.

The accused Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Kalakote area of Rajouri district, was arrested during the rescue operation, a police official said.

He said a resident of Zero Morh lodged a complaint with police station Reasi on Saturday, stating that his minor daughter had gone missing from her home Friday evening and suspected the involvement of Kumar behind her abduction.

Four Killed in Jharkhand Over Witchcraft

Four people were killed by 10-12 unidentified miscreants in Jharkhan’s Gumla allegedly over their involvement in witchcraft.

Anjani Kumar Jha, SP Gumla, told ANI, “Prima facie, it appears the victims were involved in witchcraft. Crime seems to have happened because of superstitious beliefs. Investigation underway.”

Two Naxals Surrender Before Police in Chhattisgarh

Two Naxals, one of them carrying a cash reward on his head, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, police said Sunday.

The cadres, identified as Hidma Mandavi and Mangu Mandavi, turned themselves in before Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava on Saturday evening, a local police official said.

Hidma Mandavi, associated with the outlawed CPI (Maoist) since 1997, was working as in-charge of the supply team of rebels in the district, he said.

In 2017, he was arrested by police while procuring Maoist uniforms and explosives material and then served a three- month jail term for the offence, he said.

Tiktok Parent Bytedance to Set up India Data Centre

Facing pressure from the Indian government to store data within the country borders, Beijing-based ByteDance that owns the popular short video-sharing app TikTok on Sunday, 21 July, said it was planning to set up a data centre in India.

"As a testimony to ByteDance's recognition of India's efforts to frame a new data protection legislation, we taking a significant step towards establishing a data centre in India," said the startup, which also owns the social media platform Helo.

Thirteen people were injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in Rajgarh, reported ANI. Police said, “Case will be registered, action will be taken; force has been deployed in the area.”

Baby Boy Dies in Roof Collapse in Hyderabad

A 14-month old baby boy died and his mother was injured after the roof of a room of their house collapsed in Hyderabad on Sunday, 21 July, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 6.10 am and the debris fell on the baby and his mother resulting in the instant death of the child while the woman was shifted to a local hospital with the help of local people.

Three Men, One Woman Killed in Lightening Strikes in Jhalawar

Four farmers, including a 50-year-old woman, working in their fields under rains were killed on Sunday, 21 July as lightening struck them in separate incidents in the neighbouring Jhalawar district.

The deceased included a father-son duo, while a second 60-year-old woman too was injured in the incident.

Probe Launched Into "Sexual Abuse" of HIV Positive Girls in Odisha Shelter Home

Authorities launched a probe Sunday into reports of alleged sexual abuse of HIV positive minor girls at a shelter home by its superintendent in Odisha's Kalahandi district, police said.

The district administration, police, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of Kalahandi initiated the probe after local news channels reported alleged sexual abuse of an eight-year-old HIV positive girl, who was an inmate of the centre.

A boy named Yaseen was stabbed to death while another boy has been severely injured after a scuffle broke out between them and the accused, Shahnawaz in Delhi’s Nabi Kareem area, on Sunday 21 July. The incident was caught on camera and the accused has been detained. Investigation underway.
