CoBRA Recover Naxal's Body Post Encounter in Gaya
An encounter broke out with Naxals at 2 AM on Friday night in Gaya's Lutua, while troops of 205 CoBRA along with Bihar Police were carrying out special operations. During the post-encounter search, CoBRA recovered a Naxal's body and one AK-47 rifle. A search is underway. More details are awaited.

Former CIA Official Gets 20 Years' Imprisonment for Spying for China
A former official of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was Friday sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment on charges of spying for China.
The former official, Kevin Mallory, was convicted under the Espionage Act for selling classified US "defense information" to a Chinese intelligence agent for $25,000.
"Former US Intelligence officer Mallory will spend the next 20 years of his life in prison for conspiring to pass national defense information to a Chinese intelligence officer," Assistant Attorney General John Demers said.

Trump Lifts Steel, Aluminum Tariffs on Canada, Mexico
President Donald Trump on Friday, 17 May announced a deal to lift US tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada and Mexico that had created friction between the neighbours and blocked a new North American free trade agreement.
"I'm pleased to announce that we've just reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico and will be selling our product into those countries, without the imposition of tariffs," Trump said at an event in the US capital.
His statement came moments after Canada released the text of the agreement between Ottawa and Washington in which they agree to eliminate US tariffs on steel and aluminum, and Canada's retaliatory measures, within no more than two days.

Five women of a family were killed when the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Panna in Madhya pradesh, the police said.
The accident took place Friday night, police said.
"The mishap occurred when the family of Mahesh Gupta, a resident of Kakarhati, was returning from Satna. Gupta, who was behind the wheel, lost control over the vehicle near a culvert on Panna-Kakarhati road and it fell into a gorge," Panna Kotwali police station in-charge Arvind Kujur said.
