Police Station Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir received complaint of an alleged rape of a teenager from Ganderbal on 12 May, said the police. A police team immediately arrived at spot and arrested the accused, a resident of Ganderbal. The accused is in police custody and a case has been registered.

Services were briefly delayed on a section of Delhi Metro's Blue Line after a man allegedly jumped on tracks at Kaushambi station on Wednesday, officials said.

Seeking a relaxation in disaster assistance norms, the Odisha government on Wednesday, 15 May, estimated a tentative loss of Rs 12,000 crore due to cyclone Fani that killed at least 64 people and damaged more than 5 lakh dwelling units in the state's coastal districts.

Officials of Darwin Platform Group of Companies and SBI Caps on Wednesday held discussions on the Group's unsolicited bid for crisis-hit Jet Airways.
Darwin Platform Group, which has investments across various sectors including oil and gas, hospitality and realty, among others has offered Rs 14,000 crore to acquire the grounded airline, its CEO Rahul Ganpule said.
The Group had participated in expression of interest (EoI) and also submitted its financial bid on 8 May, he said.

Japan’s SoftBank Group Corp has led an investment round of more than $200 million in online grocery startup Grofers India through its Vision Fund, the New Delhi-based company said on Wednesday, upping competition in a hotly chased market in the country.

Sri Lankan Army has launched an investigation after a man in uniform was seen in a video watching rioters attacking Muslim-owned shops, vehicles and mosques during the communal violence that broke out in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks.
Army Headquarters said that its attention has been drawn to a video showing a man dressed in uniform similar to that worn by the Army, watching as a group attacked property in the Thummodara area, the Colombo Gazette reported.
The Army said that an investigation has been launched to identify the man and verify if he is a soldier.

US President Donald Trump plans to hold off on imposing steep tariffs on imported autos while the US negotiates deals with key trading partners, industry sources told AFP on Wednesday.
Trump has threatened to impose 25 percent punitive duties on autos, which has worried the European Union and Japan in particular, as well as Mexico and Canada.
Facing a deadline to announce a decision by Saturday on whether to implement the tariffs based on national security concerns, the sources said Trump would hold off as negotiations proceed.
