3 Killed as Under-Construction Building Collpases in UP's Shahjahanpur

At least three persons were killed after an under-construction building collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur. According to the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly Ranveer Prasad, 17 epople were resuced, of which three succumbed. Rescue operations are currently underway.

Speaking to ANI, Prasad said:

“Investigation will be done and strict action will be taken against the culprits.”

Case Against Chhattisgarh BJP for Posting Incorrect Map of India

Chhattisgarh BJP workers filed a complain against Congress for posting a picture of the map of India without Kashmir on the state Congress' Twitter handle, reported ANI. Congress spokesperson has responded saying it was a”printing mistake.”

60 Cases of Zika Virus Detected in Rajasthan

Five new cases of Zika virus were detected in Jaipur Sunday, taking the total number of infected people to 60, a Rajasthan health department official said.

The figures were issued after a review meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) medical and health, Veenu Gupta.

"Forty-five out of the total 60 patients are healthy after treatment," the official said after the meeting where measures required to contain the situation were discussed.

Most of the cases which have been reported are from Shastri Nagar area here where fogging and other anti-larvae activities are being carried out to prevent the spread of the virus.

Split CM Tenure Between BJP, Shiv Sena: Ramdas Athawale

Union minister Ramdas Athawale Sunday said that he had devised a formula to satisfy bickering allies BJP and Shiv Sena which involved splitting the tenure of chief ministership in Maharashtra equally between the two parties.

He said that he would discuss this proposal with leaders of the Sena and the BJP, allies in the Maharashtra and Union governments.

"The formula of the party with the maximum number of seats getting the Chief Minister's post is already there but I am going to discuss this new formula (splitting the CM's tenure) with leaders of both the parties," Athawale said.

Two Dead in Shahjahanpur Building Collapse

Two bodies have been recovered from under the debris and 15 people were rescued in the Shahjahanapur under-construction building collapse incident, reported ANI. The injured have been sent to a hospital in Lucknow.

Five Arrested fr Raping 15-Yr-Old in Gorakhpur

Police have arrested five persons in connection with the alleged gang rape of a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh's Siddharthanagar district, an official said Sunday.

The girl (15) was gang raped on October 4, and on the complaint of her mother, police lodged an FIR against eight people on Friday evening, Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh said.

"Of these, five of the accused persons were arrested Friday night, while a search is on to arrest the remaining three accused persons," he said.

Singh said as per reports, the girl went to a field on October 4 night to relieve herself and the eight men dragged her, and after covering her mouth with a cloth, raped her.

One person was killed and three others injured in a pressure pump explosion in Ludhiana, reported ANI.

Two Men Beaten to Death by Mob in Amethi

Two men were beaten to death by a mob after they allegedly shot at a 12-year-old boy during a religious function at a temple in Saraiya village here, police said Sunday.

The boy suffered bullet injuries and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital, they said.

On Saturday night, Dilip Yadav (28) and Rahul Singh (30), who were allegedly in an inebriated state, shot at Sumit, injuring him, Station House Officer (SHO), Musafirkhana, Vishwanath Yadav, said The incident took place during a puja at the temple, following which Dilip and Singh were thrashed to death by a mob, he said.

13 People Arrested Over Malira Violence

Thirteen people were arrested following violence over the death of a youth in a road accident in Malira village, police said Sunday.

The police had booked 150 people in connection with the violence and arrested 13 people Saturday, they said.

Irate villagers had blocked Malira road and pelted stones after the youth was killed by a vehicle in a road accident, they added.

Petrol, Diesel Price Hike in Delhi & Mumbai

Petrol and Diesel prices on Sunday, 14 October, reached Rs 82.72 per litre and Rs 75.38 per litre in Delhi, showing an increase by Rs 0.6 and Rs 0.19.

Whereas in Mumbai, petrol reached Rs 88.18 per litre, increasing by Rs 0.6 and diesel increased by Rs 0.20, at Rs 79.02 per litre.
