Body of a 65-yr-old woman was found buried in the garden of her house on Saturday in Kanharpur village of Mungeli district in Chhattisgarh.
"We found out that her own son killed her. He confessed to the crime. He along with his wife had killed her on suspicion of witchcraft," the Mungeli SP told ANI.

Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday trained guns at the BJP over the isue of building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the government’s 10 percent Quota bill.
“They say Congress comes in between when Ram Mandir issue comes up. Just because Congress comes in the middle, people punished them by taking away the majority and giving you the power. However, we don’t see any Ram Mandir built by you so far,” he said.
“If you really want to help financially weaker section, then why don’t you exempt those below ₹8 lakhs per annum income from paying taxes? You have given reservations but have you calculated or considered the actual way of implementing reservations?,” he added.

Two persons were killed and seven others injured when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck in Nagaur district of Rajasthan on Sunday.
The accident occurred in the Kuchera police station area Sunday morning when the victims were on their way towards Pushkar.
Mangilal Prajapat (35) and Kaladevi (38) died on the spot, while seven others were injured, they said.
The bodies were handed over to their family members after post-mortem, the police said, adding the injured were being treated at the district hospital.

The Narendra Modi government in December 2018 decided to nominate senior Supreme Court Judge AK Sikri to the vacant post of president/member in the London-based Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal (CSAT), The Print reported.
Sikri will join the CSAT after his retirement as Supreme Court judge on 6 March.
The members of the prestigious tribunal are appointed for a four-year term, which may be renewed for one more term.
Sikri was recently in news after he was a part of the High Powered Selection Committee that transferred CBI Director Alok Verma after being reinstated to the post by the Supreme Court.
An Army personnel was injured Sunday when Pakistani troops violated ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The soldier, manning a forward post, was hit by a bullet apparently from a Pakistani sniper in Keri sector and was hospitalised, they said, adding the Indian troops retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides continued for some time.

Around a dozen persons were injured allegedly in security forces' action on protestors during clashes in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said.
Clashes erupted between groups of youth and security forces in Sugan village of south Kashmir's Shopian district amid multiple funeral prayers for Al-Badr commander Zeenat-ul-Islam who was killed in an encounter in Saturday, a police official said.
Sugan is Islam's native village.
He said at least a dozen persons were injured in the forces' action.

Four people were killed as two cars collided in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, police said on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Azeem (18), Waqas (18), Arshad (18), all residents of the district, and Sultan (22), Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sansar Singh said.
The incident took place in Baheri area of the district on Saturday night at around 1.00 pm when the cars, which were coming from opposite directions, collided with each other, he said.
Azeem, Waqas, Arshad were coming from Kichcha in Uttarakhand towards Bareilly, he added.

A gunman opened fire at a mall in a suburb of Salt Lake City in the US on Sunday, 12 January, with two people being wounded, authorities said,
The Salt Lake Tribune newspaper reported that officers were searching for the gunman.
The shooting happened on Sunday afternoon at the Fashion Place mall in the suburb of Murray.
