China Plans to Launch 100 Satellites by 2025: Official
China plans to launch about 100 satellites into space by 2025 adding to the more than 200 that are already in orbit, an official at the China National Space Administration said.
China, which is investing heavily in space technology with plans to build its own space station by 2022, reported to have about 280 satellites currently in space against India's 54 until November last, according to World Economic Forum Data.
With 830 satellites in space, US leads the satellite race.

16 Killed, over 80 Injured in Pakistan Train Collision
At least 16 passengers were killed and more than 80 others injured on Thursday when an express train rammed into a stationery freight train in Pakistan's Punjab province, officials said.
The Quetta-bound Akbar Express collided with the stationary freight train at the Walhar Railway Station in Sadiqabad Tehsil of the province, Dawn quoted officials as saying.

Huge Fire Erupts at Power Station Outside Moscow
A blaze raged for hours at a gas-fired power station outside Moscow on Thursday, killing a worker overseeing a substation and damaging a nearby warehouse, office building and hostel, emergency services said.
As the fire sent a plume of smoke and flames 50 metres into the sky, a female employee was unable to escape in time, Russia's emergencies ministry said.
"While searching through debris at the fire scene, one fatality was discovered," the ministry said.
Fourteen people received medical treatment, one of whom was hospitalised.

Teenage Boy Rapes 80-Year-Old Woman; Arrested
An 80-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 15-year-old boy at a village in Madhubani district of north Bihar, following which he was arrested, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place at Jamaila village under the Andhrathadi police station limits late Wednesday night, Superintendent of Police, Madhubani, Satya Prakash said.
He said the accused, who is a distant relative and a neighbour of the victim, allegedly raped the woman around midnight and tried to muffle her screams by forcing a piece of cloth into her mouth.
However, the cries of the victim jolted the members of her family and neighbours out of their sleep and the boy was captured.

Head of Boeing's 737 Max Program to Retire: Company
The head of Boeing's embattled 737 MAX program plans to retire, the company said, just as it gears up to persuade regulators to return the plane to the skies after two deadly crashes.
It was the most high profile departure of a senior executive since the aircraft was grounded in mid-March following two crashes that claimed 346 lives.
