Nawaz Sharif, Daughter to Be Arrested Upon Landing in Abu Dhabi
Former Pakistani President Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Sharif will both face arrest in Abu Dhabi as they return to Pakistan from London on Friday, 13 July. They will be arrested by a special NAB team at Abu Dhabi Airport, reported ANI.
The former leader was convicted in absentia and sentenced to 10 years’ jail on 6 July.
19 Dead in Chemical Plant Explosion in China
An explosion at a chemical plant in southwest China left 19 dead and injured another 12, on Thursday, 12 July, reported PTI quoting authorities.
The blast occurred at an industrial park in Sichuan province's Yibin city, according to a statement on the website of the local work safety administration, PTI added.

Q1 Results: Infosys Profit Misses Estimates In June Quarter
Infosys Ltd. missed profit estimates during the quarter ended June as it reported a contraction in its operating margin on a sequential basis.
Net profit of the software services provider fell 2.1 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 3,610 crore during the April-June period, Infosys said in its filing with the stock exchanges. That compares with the Bloomberg consensus estimate of Rs 3,741 crore. The bottom line was hit primarily by a Rs 270 crore reduction in the fair value of Panaya, the filing added.
Revenue rose 6 percent sequentially to Rs 19,130 crore, slightly higher than estimates. Revenue in dollar terms rose a percent to $2,831 million from the previous quarter.

S-400 Missile Deal With Russia to Go Ahead Despite US Sanctions: Defence Minister
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on 13 July, said the S-400 Triumf air defence missile deal with Russia will go ahead notwithstanding the US sanctions on military transactions with Moscow.
Referring to CAATSA (Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act), under which the Trump administration has imposed sanctions on military deals with Russia, she said it is an American law and not a UN law and India has conveyed its position on the issue to the US.
"Our defence relation with Russia has endured several decades and we have conveyed about it to a US Congressional delegation which visited India recently," Sitharaman told a group of reporters at her office in South Block.
