1. ASCI to Help GHMC Improve Sanitation in Hyderabad

GHMC will receive technical support and guidance from Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to improve urban sanitation.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will receive technical support and guidance from Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) to improve urban sanitation and sustain the open defecation free double plus status (ODF ++ ) given to Hyderabad by the Centre and achieve Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) goals.

The GHMC has given nod to the ASCI’s budget proposal and detailed plan of the pilot project which will be implemented in two phases over one year in Somajiguda and Ameerpet wards.

2. Collector’s Say Final in Fake Caste Certificates

The Telangana High Court on Monday said that disciplinary action cannot be taken against government servants on the ground that they had submitted a false caste certificate to get employment until the district collector decides that the certificate was illegal and void.

Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili was dealing a petition filed by constable S Ajay Chander of Mancherial district seeking to quash a charge memo issued by the Ninnel mandal tahsildar on the grounds that he had submitted a false caste certificate to get the job under the BC-B quota.

3. Eligibility for Food Cards Might Stop at 10 Acres

The state government is likely to set ownership of 10 acres of land as the ceiling for beneficiaries to get food security cards. This may also extend to the Rythu Bandhu scheme in the near future.

The state government has issued instructions to collectors to keep on hold distribution of food security cards to those owning 10 acres land and more and drawing the benefit of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

4. Baby of Homeless Couple Kidnapped

A five-month-old kid of a homeless couple was kidnapped on Saturday night. The parents are daily wage labourers.

The couple was allegedly in an inebriated condition and fell asleep on a footpath of the Motinagar flyover. The SR Nagar police registered a case on Sunday and an investigation is underway. The police identified the parents as Aruna, 25, the mother and Ramulu, 40, the father.

5. Telangana Police Tick off AP Police for Intervention

The intervention of the Andhra Pradesh police in a case of data theft registered at Madhapur police station in Telangana state could land them in trouble.

The law clearly states that they should have taken permission from the local police before reaching out to anybody outside their jurisdiction and this they did not do when they landed up at the home of T Lokeswar Reddy, the whistleblower in the IT Grids data theft case, said the Cyberabad police.
