Gunfire during a riot in a Guatemala prison Tuesday left at least seven inmates dead and 10 wounded, authorities said.

Blast Rocks Central Kabul in Afghanistan
A large blast rocked central Kabul, officials confirmed, sending a plume of black smoke over the city in the latest explosion to hit the war-torn city and as Afghanistan observes the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Crew of 13 Indians Rescued from Burning Ship in UAE
Thirteen Indians onboard a burning cargo ship were rescued Wednesday, 8 May, by a team of quick-acting firefighters at Khalid Port in Sharjah.
The vessel was loaded with 6,000 gallons of diesel, 120 exported vehicles and 300 vehicle tyres - all of which were gutted in the massive blaze.
No casualties have been reported as the firefighters reached the site immediately and evacuated the crew members in time, Col Sami Al Naqbi, director-general of Sharjah Civil Defence was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.

Singapore Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Delhi Airport
A Singapore Airlines plane, carrying 228 people, Wednesday made an emergency landing at the airport in the national capital after suffering a glitch with its nose wheel, an official said.
The aircraft - A380-800 - from Singapore suffered some problem with its nose wheel and was towed away to the terminal, according to a passenger onboard.
