Earthquake of 6.6 Magnitude Struck South-West Patras, Greece

An earthquake of 6.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck 130 km southwest of Pátra (Greece) on Thursday, 25 October, according to reports by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

Activists' Arrest: SC to Hear Maharashtra Plea Against Bombay HC Order

The Supreme Court will hear Maharashtra government’s plea challenging the Bombay High Court order on Monday, 29 October. The order had set aside the grant of more time to state police to complete investigation against five accused arrested for Maoist links in June in connection with the probe into Elgar Parishad and Bhima Koregaon violence.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi fixed the date after advocate Nishant Katneshwar, representing the state government, mentioned the matter and sought an urgent hearing.
