One of the main accused in the murder case of Islamic convert Faisal P in Kerala’s Malappuram district last year was found murdered on Thursday, local media reported.

30-year-old Vipin, a native of Tirur, was allegedly attacked by an unknown group of people, The Times of India reported.

Faisal P alias Aneesh Kumar was hacked to death on 19 November 2016, months after he converted to Islam. The police had arrested eight persons in the case, including Faisal’s brother-in-law Vinodh.

Vinodh was reportedly an RSS member, and according to the police, the accused had threatened Faisal for converting to Islam and had killed him out of rage.

Months after Faisal’s murder, eight members of his family had converted to Islam.
