An Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter plane crashed in Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, 28 January.

  • The pilot is said to have ejected safely.
  • The fighter plane crashed in a field and caught fire immediately.
  • The Jaguar, on a routine mission, had taken off from Gorakhpur airport, NDTV reported.
  • A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident, reports said.

The Indian Air Force issued a statement following the crash, as reported by ANI: “Today (Monday) morning, a Jaguar aircraft while on a routine mission from Gorakhpur, crashed. Pilot ejected safely. A court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident.”
