Three days after Karnataka Governor, Vajubhai Vala, snubbed Janata Dal (S) supremo and former prime minister, HD Deve Gowda, a group of JD(S) MLCs have demanded that he ‘go back to Gujarat’.

Over 100 people gathered at Bengaluru’s Maurya circle on Thursday, protesting against the Governor. They burnt an effigy and tyres in protest against the governor’s behaviour.

On 4 April, Deve Gowda had sought an appointment to meeting the Governor in order to submit a memorandum after the party’s protest against the formation of an anti-corruption bureau (ACB). He was kept waiting for 45 minutes, and as the governor was resting, Gowda eventually had to leave.

Karnataka Raj Bhavan has turned into Gujarat Bhavan. We started the “Gujarat Wapas Chalo” protest. He must apologise for the behaviour.

The Yuva Janata Dal (Secular) president, Rame Gowda, said in a circular that they would lock up the governors; house if he does not apologise.
