At Least 5 Civilians Injured in Grenade Attack in Srinagar Market
The area has been cordoned off and further searches and investigation are underway.
At least five civilians were injured a grenade attack in Srinagar’s Hari Singh High Street Market on Saturday, 12 October, a few hundred metres away from the city centre Lal Chowk.
“It seems there is a grenade throwing incident, now we are investigating. Nobody is seriously injured,” CRPF IG Ravideep Sahai told the media.
“Six to seven people have been injured,” he said.
The explosion also damaged the windows of a car, officials told PTI. The shops in the market were shut but a few vendors had set up stalls in the area.
All injured have been taken to a local hospital and are said to be stable. The area has been cordoned off and further searches and investigation are underway.
