A zoo in Vadodara is taking care of its furry friends in the cold winter by building fireplaces for them, to keep them warm in the extreme weather conditions.
Last week, the temperatures fell to the decade’s lowest – 6.5 degrees – which made Sayaji Baug Zoo add fireplaces to the enclosures to help regulate the animals’ body temperatures, as Hindustan Times reported.
Green-agro nets have also been put over the bird and animal cages for the heat to stay trapped so that the animals don’t shiver in the biting cold.
The authorities are providing special food to the animals as well, again for regulating their body temperatures.
