Police File Rape Case After 3-Yr-Old Girl’s Body Found in Gurugram

According to the parents, the girl had been kidnapped when she was playing.

The naked body of a three-year-old girl was found in Gurugram’s Sector 66 on Monday, 12 November, making the police suspect it as a case of rape and murder.

The girl had missing since 11 am on Sunday, and was found by labourers in a room constructed for them on Monday, reported Hindustan Times. The police was subsequently intimated and reached the site along with the locals.

According to the parents, the girl had been kidnapped when she was playing.

As per Hindustan Times, the accused has been identified as a 20-year-old migrant, Sunil Kumar, who is a resident of Naugaon Village in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district.

Police investigation is underway, with the body undergoing a post-mortem and a case reportedly being filed against unknown people under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape), 302 (punishment for murder) as well section 4 (punishment for penetrative sexual assault) of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

The police has formed four teams to catch the accused – two from crime branch and two from the police station.
