Hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who literally shut the doors of his residence on a group of MPs few days back, said on Thursday that he was not against dialogue but will not participate in any “meaningless exercise” which is not aimed at solving the Kashmir issue.
Addressing public gatherings telephonically at Panzan-Chadoora and Nasrullahpora, the separatist leader said:
He termed Rajnath Singh’s visit to the state as an exercise to pass time. He also accused the Centre and the PDP-BJP government of Kashmir of unleashing a “rein of terror” on the people instead of taking into account the “unmatched sacrifices” rendered by them.
Geelani talked about the historic background of the Kashmir issue and said “we want fulfilment of the promises made by Indian leaders to the people of Kashmir and the world.”
