A fire broke out at Cinevista, a film studio in suburban Kanjur Marg (West) in Mumbai on 7 January, Saturday evening, police said.
While shooting of two TV serials was going on at the studio which is located along the Central railway line, there were no reports of anyone getting injured, fire brigade officials said.
The studio is a ground-plus-one structure. Over 100 shooting crew were evacuated from the studio.
Electrical wiring inside the studio caught fire first, fire brigade officials said.
Eight fire engines and six water tankers were pressed into service to put out the flames.
The incident comes days after fourteen persons were killed and 16 injured after a massive fire broke out at the Kamala Mills compound in Mumbai's Lower Parel locality.
According to reports, on the night of 29 December, the fire started at the ‘1 Above’ restaurant and spread to ‘Mojo’ pub. Earlier, reports said that the fire had also spread to the London Taxi restaurant, but the premises have not been affected.
Earlier this week, on 3 January, four people were killed and five others were injured in a fire on the third floor of the ‘Maimoon Building’ in Mumbai’s Marol.
