Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who denied Alwar’s lynching incident in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, issued a clarification amidst uproar in Parliament on Friday.

Apraadhi, qatil, gunda, badmash. Usko Hindu-Musalman ki nazar se mat dekhiye, apraadhi apraadhi hai. (Don’t give the incident a religious spin. A criminal is a criminal.)

Abbas further went on to say he did not mean the Alwar incident when he said “no such incident has happened.”

“Nothing of this kind happened in UP, Gujarat or MP. That is what I said," Naqvi asserted.

Naqvi’s statement was followed by uproar in the Parliament and members of the Congress raised slogans for the home minister to make a statement.

Naqvi said Home Minister Rajnath Singh will present his statement on the matter on Monday.
