Security has been tightened at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport and the metro stations in the capital following intelligence reports that seven terrorists have been spotted in combat uniforms, Hindustan Times reported.
The report quoted intelligence inputs from Amritsar.:
Several passengers have complained about the inconvenience caused by the increased security ahead of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. While passengers are being subjected to random frisking, some are also being checked right before boarding the aircraft.
The CISF has formed a ‘sweeping squad’ – comprising personnel trained in profiling people.“Their job is to identify suspicious passengers as soon as they enter the airport,” a BCAS official said.
