Dassault Aviation CEO Eric Trappier on Wednesday, 20 February, said there is no scandal in the Rafale deal and the 36 fighter jets will be delivered to India in the coming two years.

Trappier, who was talking to the reporters on the sidelines of Aero India 2019, said, as quoted by ANI, "There is no scandal with Rafale. We were asked for 36 Rafale jets which we are going to deliver to India in the next two years. The first jet will be delivered this year in September and then one fighter jet will be given every month."

He said that Dassault will deliver more Rafale planes if India wants so. "We will be more than pleased to deliver and we feel confident for the future," he said.

If India wants to strengthen its defence capability, then “100 is a good number”, he added.

On revealing the pricing details of the deal, Trappier said that it is the responsibility of the government of India, not his.
