Dancer Collapses and Dies on Stage During Routine in Kerala

A Bharatnatyam dancer collapsed while performing on stage and the audience thought it was all part of the performance.
The 48-year-old dancer named, Omanakuttan, was performing alongside his teacher Sivan Malyankara.
In the video, the two can be seen mirroring each other's moves while performing during a festival in the town of Paravur, in Kerala.
His teacher realised something was wrong when Omanakuttan crouched and slumped to the floor. Malyankara then moved to side and asked to drop the stage curtain.
The dancer seemed to be in perfect health before collapsing.
The dancer was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
