DA Case: Co-accused’s Accountant Testifies Against Himachal CM

An accountant’s statement against Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh may help the CBI’s ongoing inquiry against him.

The accountant of an apple trader, who allegedly laundered money for Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, recorded his confessional statement before a magistrate in Delhi.

The Indian Express reports that the clerk, Saroj Singh, who works for the apple trader, Chunni Lal Chauhan, a co-accused in the case, testified before a magistrate, revealing how money, allegedly belonging to Virbhadra was moved by Chauhan and records were falsified to show it as agricultural income.

The CBI has been carrying out an inquiry against the Himachal Pradesh CM and his family members for allegedly amassing disproportionate wealth worth Rs 6.03 crore during his tenure as steel minister.
