With the highest single-day spike of 15,968 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in India in last 24 hours, total cases in India stand at 4,56,183 including 1,83,022 active cases, 2,58,685 cured/discharged/migrated patients and 14,476 deaths.

Maharashtra recorded 3,214 new COVID-19 positive cases, with 248 deaths (75 in last 48 hours and 173 in the previous period), reported ANI, quoting government briefing.

COVID Positive RJD President Resigns From Party Post

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national vice president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has resigned from his post, ANI reported. He is currently admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna as has tested positive for COVID 19.

Will Ask LG to Revoke Mandatory Clinical Assessment of COVID Patients: Sisodia

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that he will write to LG Baijal to ask him to revoke his order mandating clinical assessment of COVID positive patients at quarantine centres.

“After Lt Governor ordered that every COVID-19 positive patient is required to visit quarantine centre for clinical assessment, a lot of pressure is being built on people. So, I have written a letter to LG requesting him to withdraw this order,” he said., as quoted by ANI.

“Due to LG's order, pressure has increased on ambulance system & people, as police & administration are pressuring patients to visit a quarantine centre. The former system was better, wherein govt's team used to visit patients' residence for clinical assessment,” he added.

Modi Govt Passed Buck on States Without Additional Support: Sonia Gandhi

India to Not Send Hajj Pilgrims to Saudi

Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that India will not send any pilgrims to Haj this year.

“We have decided that Haj pilgrims from India will not be sent to Saudi Arabia for Haj 2020. Application money of more than 2.3 lakh pilgrims will be returned without cancellation deductions through direct transfer,” he said.

The total number of samples tested up to 22 June is 71,37,716 including 1,87,223 samples tested yesterday. the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) stated as quoted by ANI.

199 New COVID-19 Cases in Rajasthan
