Shabana, Javed & Renuka Condemn Murder of Gauri Lankesh

Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Renuka Shahane express shock over the murder of journalist, Gauri Lankesh.

Shabana Azmi and Farhan Akhtar condemn senior journalist, Gauri Lankesh’s murder.

Gauri Lankesh, senior journalist-activist was shot dead by unidentified assailants at her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in West Bengaluru late on 5 September. Lankesh was a vocal critic of right-wing parties in Karnataka.

Bollywood personalities Shekhar Kapur, Dia Mirza, Nandita Das and Shirish Kunder condemned the death of the senior Kannada journalist and social activist.

Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Renuka Shahane not only condemned Gauri Lankesh's murder, but also questioned the authorities about the unsolved murder of three other outspoken critics of right-wing extremist ideology - M.M. Kalburgi, Govind Pansare and Narendra Dabholkar.
