Flight Lt Bhawana Kanth has become the first woman fighter pilot to be qualified to undertake missions by day on a fighter aircraft, news agency ANI reported on Wednesday, 22 May.

Kanth, who had joined fighter squadron in 2017, completed Day Operational syllabus on MiG-21 Bison aircraft on Wednesday.

Kanth is from the first batch of women fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force (IAF). She took her first solo flight on MiG-21 Bison aircraft in March last year.
