Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday night.

One militant was captured in an injured state.

In a separate incident in Unisoo, in Kashmir’s Handwara district, three militants, who were “apparently Pakistanis”, were killed by a joint team of J&K Police, RR and CRPF, J&K DGP SP Vaid said.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the early hours in Unisoo village of Handwara following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter as the hiding militants fired upon the forces conducting the searches.
