A class XII student was forced to leave Muzaffarpur after a video of him getting beaten up by two of his fellow students went viral.

On Wednesday, the victim, a 16-year-old boy from Kendriya Vidyalaya of Muzaffarpur in Bihar, said in a letter that he was beaten by the two boys who are brothers at least once a week.

In a letter to NDTV, he said that his father sent him to stay at Muzaffarpur for a better education.

You see, I am a Dalit and so doing well in the examinations or academics, which brings me praise at home, earns me humiliation and abuse in my classroom.

The student said that he’s writing a letter because he’s frustrated with having to repeat his story to those who keep asking him why he bore his torture silently for so long.

He said that despite being a meritorious student, he has stopped attending school after being threatened by two to three people when his maternal grandfather filed a police case.

My final examination is in March. You tell me, how should I cope and prepare?
