Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan met in Chennai on 21 September at the actor’s residence. The politically-active actor and fimmaker has earlier hinted that he may join or launch a political party, but not in haste.
Following the meeting, the two leaders addressed a joint press conference in which they both expressed that they will keep meeting in the future and exchange ideas.

Emerging from the meeting at the Kamal Haasan’s office-cum- residence in Alwarpet, Kejriwal said,
With Haasan by his side, the AAP chief said he was very happy when he learnt that there were a large number of honest people who feel strongly against communalism and communal forces.
Kejriwal said he had always been a great fan of Haasan both as an actor and as an individual.
Addressing a joint press conference with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that he was “happy to meet Kejriwal and exchange ideas with like-minded people.” Kamal said that he discussed various issues with Kejriwal, including corruption issue.
The Delhi chief minister said that he has always been a fan of Kamal Haasan, both as an actor and individual.
Kejriwal lauded Kamal for deciding to stick his neck out, rather than complaining from outside. He added that “like minded people should get together and hold discussions.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to meet filmmaker Kamal Haasan in Chennai on 21 September, and the two are likely to have “political discussions” amid indications that the veteran actor may join politics soon.
Haasan has, of late, been very active politically, often times levying corruption charges against the state government.
He had congratulated the CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala for “good governance” on its first anniversary in May this year.
The Delhi Chief Minister will also visit a Tamil Nadu government-run skill development centre in Chennai, an AAP functionary told PTI.
According to The News Minute, Kejriwal is flying to Chennai and will be in the city for just a few hours. “The only meeting scheduled during this whirlwind visit to the city is with the Ulaganayagan (Haasan), who has been hinting at a political entry for quite sometime now,” said the report.
Haasan had been opposing the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, whose political adversary DMK has voiced support for him.
While speaking to The Quint, Haasan spoke on creating a new political party saying, “Yes I am thinking on those lines, not out of choice but compulsion. Which existent political party can provide me with a platform or an ideology that will match my reformatory goals in politics?”
