Two teachers were arrested for allegedly demanding sexual favours from a student in exchange for good marks in the HSC exams, police told Hindustan Times on Wednesday, 19 September.

The two teachers, Pravin Suryavanshi and Sachin Sonavane, were arrested following a complaint filed by the Class XII student in Nashik.

According to the investigating officer in the case, Y P Jadhav, the accused had allegedly asked the victim for sexual favours, in return for which they would ensure the latter received high marks in various subjects of the HSC exams.

According to preliminary investigations, the two accused had reportedly been demanding sexual favours from students of the institute since 2015, IANS reported.

The police are looking into the case to check whether any similar complaints had been filed against them earlier.
